Man Injured When Train Hits Car In Deerfield Beach

DEERFIELD BEACH (CBSMiami) – A young man had to be extricated from his car Monday morning after he was hit by a train.

The accident happened at NW 48th Place and NW 9th Avenue in Deerfield Beach at approximately 9 a.m. Monday morning.

A 20-year-old male, inside the vehicle, was transported as a trauma alert to Broward Health North, according to Broward Sheriff's Office Fire.

The train, according to a spokesperson for Tri-Rail, was headed northbound with 150 people on board.

Nobody in the train was injured.

The train, since the accident, has departed again.
