MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A man is behind bars after a scare at a Coral Gables school Wednesday morning.

Miami-Dade Schools Police said Alexander Carret was walking down US-1 and Ponce De Leon Boulevard walked into the Henry S. West Laboratory School just before 8:30 a.m., right before school started.

They said Carret caused a disturbance and knocked out a window in the school.

Administration officials called police who were able to take him into custody.

Police said Carret was homeless and was angered when a teacher found him sleeping.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Carret now faces charges of burglary of an unoccupied structure, criminal mischief, and resisting an officer without violence.
