Man In Critical Condition After Being Stabbed Multiple Times

BIG COPPITT KEY (CBSMiami) – Monroe County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a Big Coppitt man for stabbing and critically injuring another man.

The victim, Yunior Carrazana, 30, of Sugarloaf Key was taken to Ryder Trauma Center in Miami for life-threatening wounds to his upper torso.

Deputies arrested 27-year-old Ramon Sanchez for the crime.

According to investigators Sanchez had a previous relationship with the mother of his child, Dayanet Portal.

Portal said she was talking to Carrazana when Sanchez barged into the home where the couple was with two children.

Deputies said Sanchez tried to attack Portal and Carrazana helped to defend her, but was stabbed multiple times by Sanchez.

Portal told investigators Sanchez forced them to remain in the room for about 15 minutes and would not allow anyone to call for help.

Sanchez left and deputies later spotted his vehicle.

They pulled him over and found the bloody knife allegedly used in the attack.

Sanchez was arrested on multiple felony charges including attempted murder, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, obstruction, domestic battery, and burglary with battery on the occupant.
