MIAMI (CBSMiami) - The body of a man, who went missing after he jumped in the water off Key Biscayne to help free a stuck boat, has been found.

Sixteen people were out in a pair of rental boats Sunday afternoon when bad weather pushed them towards the shore of Nixon beach. When one of the boat's anchors got stuck in rocks 31-year old Paul Flowers, from New York, and another man jumped in to free it. Flowers never returned.

"The second vessel tried to swim up to that person but couldn't get up to him at that point that person went under and they lost sight of him," said Officer Lorenzo Veloz, with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Rescue crews searched through the night but were unable to find Flowers.
