Man Shot In Drive-By Taken To Hialeah Hospital

HIALEAH (CBSMiami) - A man was rushed to the hospital Monday morning after he was shot while driving around with some friends.

According to Hialeah police, four men were driving around looking for prostitutes around 2 a.m.

They would later tell police it started with an unusual encounter when they stopped at a gas station at North Miami Avenue and NW 79th Street and found a man staring at them.

Shortly after they were back on the road, the group realized a car was trailing them.

It was at East 10th Avenue and 9th Street in Hialeah when the river pulled along side them and fired a shot through the passenger window, hitting one of the men.

They drove their injured friend to Hialeah Hospital. From there he was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

Hialeah detectives say they believe the shooting was targeted and they have a person of interest they're working to find.
