FORT MYERS (CBSMiami/AP) — A southwest Florida man, who killed an acquaintance over $150, could face life in prison.

A Lee County jury found 53-year-old Randy Marquardt guilty Thursday of second-degree murder, kidnapping and burglary. His sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 5.

Prosecutors say Marquardt shot 50-year-old Joseph Gales at his Bonita Springs home after an argument in September 2013. Authorities say Marquardt then drove to Fort Myers and kidnapped his estranged wife but let her go a short time later.

Marquardt was arrested several hours after the shooting.
