LAKELAND, Fla. (CBSMiami/AP) — A Florida man trimming trees died after he hit a power line and was electrocuted.

The Lakeland Police Department says it received a call at 4:34 p.m. Friday about an individual who was stuck in a tree and on fire. Authorities say 50-year-old Marlin Poutre of Lakeland had been on a 30-foot ladder when he was electrocuted.

A witness said the victim hit a live power line with a pole saw. He apparently was dangling from a safety harness.
