Man Dies After RV Park Fire

TAMPA (AP) — A man rescued from a burning camper at an RV park in Tampa has died.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue was dispatched to the Bay Bayou RV Park on Saturday at about 8 p.m.

Firefighters found 54-year-old Elfton Mace sitting outside a camper engulfed in flames. He had been rescued by two neighbors and had visible burn injuries.

Mace was transported by medical helicopter to a trauma center. He later died.

Fire rescue crews extinguished the flames and were able to prevent damage to any nearby RVs.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
