MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) - A Miami jury has convicted a New Jersey man in the murder of a retired police captain.

On Thursday Rafael Toirac-Aguilera, 39, was found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of 61-year-old Robert Yee.

Toirac-Aguilera was accused of killing Yee in 2009 at the Hurricane Cove Marina, where Yee was working as a security guard.

Yee, who spent 25 years on the force before retiring in the mid-1990s, was found with multiple gunshot wounds to the back of his head.

Authorities say Toirac-Aguilera's DNA and a fingerprint were found on an orange juice bottle left at the scene, which police believe was used as a homemade silencer on the weapon that killed Yee.
