MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Bond has been denied for a man who allegedly tried to kidnap and rape a woman Labor Day morning in southwest Miami-Dade.

Just before 7 a.m., Shaka Woods reportedly grab a 58-year old woman as she walked near Kendale Lakes Park in the 7800 block of SW 142nd Avenue. Woods, 32, punched the woman and threatened to rape and kill her, according to his arrest report.

The woman cried out for help and two people who saw what was happening told him to stay away from her or they would call the police. By that time, however, Woods had already dragged the woman "causing abrasions to her shoulders, thighs and back," according to Miami-Dade police arrest report.

Police arrested Woods after he reportedly stole the woman's car, inside his pocket they found the woman's keys.

He was charged with attempted sexual battery, strong arm robbery, kidnapping and battery. Police say Woods confessed to the crime during questioning.
