Man Arrested For 12 Counts Of Alleged Sexual Battery Against Teen

WILTON MANORS (CBSMiami) – Wilton Manors police have arrested a man for the alleged sexual battery of a teenager.
Detectives accused 27-year-old Peterson Simbert of 12 counts of sexual battery Thursday after learning about 12 encounters between Simbert and a child between 12 and 15 years of age.
Detectives took a sworn statement from the 14-year-old victim detailing the 12 encounters between June 21 and August 16, 2014.
Simbert was a family friend who lived in the same apartment with the victim, her mother and sister, police said.
Detectives added, in August, Simbert moved out to live with his child and the mother of his child, but the sexual battery was not uncovered until recently.
