Man Arrested After Dog Is Dangled Over Apartment Balcony

ORLANDO (CBSMiami/AP) — An Orlando has been arrested after video reportedly shows him dangling a dog over an apartment walkway.

Ransom May was charged Tuesday with cruelty to animals. The video had been posted on several social media sites.

An arrest report says May brought the white pit bull to the apartment where his daughter's mother lives. While there, another woman knocked on the door, demanding that May return her dog.

The report says May grabbed the dog by the scruff and held it over the railing of a second-floor walkway, about 15 feet from the ground, for up to 10 minutes.

The report says May swung the dog around several times and threatened to kill it.

Ransom told detectives he didn't believe he was hurting the dog.
