Man Accused Of Threatening Officer's Life On Periscope

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A man is behind bars after allegedly threatening a police officer's life on social media.

A judge granted Jean Michael Montenegro a $6,000 bond on Tuesday.

Montenegro is accused of logging into Periscope with a Miami-Dade Police Sergeant who was on it for a "departmentally sanctioned" interview on April 8th.

That's when, police said Montenegro began to threaten the officer's life.

According to the police report, he said "I'll kill you sergeant."

The incident prompted an investigation which led to Montenegro's arrest on Monday. The police report states he confessed while in custody.

Montenegro is now facing cyber stalking and written threat charges.
