Man Accused Of Stabbing Stranger Walking His Dog

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A man accused of violently attacking a stranger as he walked his dog on the streets of Miami faced a judge Tuesday.
A judge ordered Marcos Perez, 21, to be held on no bond - charged with attempted felony murder.
According to his arrest report, Perez approached a man on Sunday as he walked his dog near his home. The man was sitting on the grass when Perez made contact with him and waited for him to look away.
That's when, Perez began violently stabbing the man on his face, neck and hand, according to the report.
The victim was able to block some of the strikes to his neck which police say saved his life. Perez was able to somehow get away, police said.
Crews took the victim to Kendall Regional Hospital where, at last check, he was still recovering from his injuries.
On Monday, police say, they spotted a man who matched the description of the attacker and took him into custody. The victim later identified Perez as his attacker, police said.
Perez reportedly denied the attack and said he was home but his mother later told police her son was not home at the time of the attack and has a history of violence.
Meantime, authorities are investigating the incident since the victim said the attack was unprovoked because he did not know Perez and had no interaction with him.
