ORLANDO (CBSMiami/AP) — A central Florida man accused of abducting his ex-girlfriend, stuffing her in the trunk of her car and killing her was taken into custody over the weekend after a three-day manhunt.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said a tip led them Saturday afternoon to 62-year-old David Payne.

Deputies had been searching for Payne since his ex-girlfriend, 25-year-old Jasmine Samuel, was found dead Thursday morning.

Nieves says deputies caught Payne as he left an Orlando Sam's Club store. He was arrested on first-degree murder and armed kidnapping charges.

Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings said Samuel called 911 early Thursday to report that she had been forced into the trunk of her. She later was found dead from a gunshot wound in her car.
