AVENTURA (CBSMiami) -- Former secretary of state Madeleine Albright campaigned across the sunshine state encouraging Floridians to vote for Hillary Clinton.

On Saturday, Albright made stops in Aventura and Lake Worth, discussing Clinton's career fight for women and American families.

"She is, hands down, the most prepared person ever to run for president," the 79-year-old Albright said at the Aventura Coordinated Campaign Office. "I've known Hillary a very long time. We did go to the same college, she's 10 years younger than I am, but I know where she got her study habits."

Albright was the nation's first ever female secretary of state and recalled early memories of Clinton, working on behalf of others.

"The first time I met her she was head of the Children's Defense Fund, and she'd come up to Washington, and she really spent a lot of time on behalf of those who didn't have a voice," said Albright. "And I think that's very much a part of the way that she thinks and operates. And she was so completely dedicated to that whole cause of children and families."

Albright began her career in Washington in 1978 working in the West Wing for the National Security Council. She served as the U.N. ambassador from 1993 to 1997 and spent four years as the nation's top diplomat under President Bill Clinton from 1997 to 2001.

On Sunday, she'll end the two-day Florida swing at the Boca Raton Coordinated Campaign Office at 2236 N. Dixie Hwy.

Hillary Clinton will return to Florida to campaign on Tuesday, October 25th, highlighting the start of in-person early voting.
