MacArthur Causeway reopens after crash that injured 2 people

2 people hospitalized after McArthur Causeway crash

A section of the MacArthur Causeway has reopened after it was closed for more than nine hours Friday morning due to a multi-vehicle crash that spread debris across the lanes. 

Two people were injured in the crash, which happened around 12:30 a.m., and were taken to the Ryder Trauma Center, according to Miami Beach Police. Their conditions have not been released. 

During the investigation, the eastbound lanes of the causeway were closed between Fountain Street/Palm Island and Alton Road/Fisher Island. The westbound lanes were closed between Alton Road and Bridge Road/Star Island.

Both eastbound and westbound were reopened around 9:30 a.m, according to Miami Beach Police.
