MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) - Lyft, much like Uber, will also cease operations in Broward County.

Competitor Uber announced its plans to leave Broward County, on July 31, following the County Commission's newly approved laws regulating transportation network companies.

Both services will continue operations in Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties.

Lyft spokeswoman Chelsea Wilson told the Sun Sentinel the county's new law "places unnecessarily burdensome requirements on drivers that make it nearly impossible for ride sharing to operate."

Many of the app-driven company's drivers work during off time from other jobs.
