MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Popular athletic wear company Lululemon Athletica has recalled women's tops due to an elastic cord that, when stretched, can snap back and can hit wearers in the face or eye.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission reports there have been seven injuries to the face and eye.

The tips of the cords, when pulled or stretched, can snap back and hit wearers in the face.

The tops affected, approximately 318,000 in the U.S. and Canada, were primarily sold between January 2008 and December 2014 for $75-260. They are described as having a draw cord in the neck area, is stretchy, and has a hard metal or plastic tip at the end.

Consumers are either asked to remove the string or contact the company for a replacement cord.
