Some of the people learned of the terrorist attack just as they landed at MIA. Their plane took off an hour before the violence rang out.

Emotions ran high as people told their family what happened overseas while they were in-flight.

Christophe Bassett told his father about the attack. He was emotional upon hearing the news.

"Everyone knows this magazine. The best cartoonist go there"

Sid Benichou told him mom what happened right when she walked out of customs at MIA. She said in France the government had thwarted other potential attacks.

As the devastating news was relayed to those landing in Miami, scenes from Paris were playing out on TVs across South Florida.

At George's in South Miami, Demos spoke with owner George Farge, from France, who spoke with his relatives.

"Something happened in Boston, something happened in New York, we will be stronger and we will get over it," Farge told Demos.

Patrons from France, like Claire Francounon, discussed the tragedy.

"My first feeling was like 9/11, I thought it was impossible. In fact it was not," said Francounon.

At Le Crepe Bistro in South Miami, Florence Riguidel, who said she had just gotten back from Paris, had noticed extra police and military in place.

Riguidel said, "I'm sad yeah.. i'm mad.. cause what's going to be next"
