Venezuelans In S.Fla. Form Human Chain To Show Solidarity

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Venezuelans in South Florida formed a human chain on Saturday to show solidarity with those protesting in Venezuela.

The group VenMundo  invited the Venezuelan community  and Latin community in Miami to form the chain just off of 36th Street between 79th Street and 87th Avenue from 10: 00 a. m. to 1:00 p.m.

On Friday, Students at Florida International University's South campus staged an organized and peaceful rally to call attention to what they say is unjust treatment of people in Venezuela.

About 150 students showed up carrying signs with messages of hope. FIU President Mark Rosenberg said it was one of the largest rallies of its kind at the school.

In the Capital city of Caracas, tension continues to mount as the death toll, as of Friday, had climbed to 20 after nearly a month of demonstrations on the streets.
