DAVIE (CBSMiami/AP) — Offensive lineman Arthur Ray Jr. is among 26 players invited to try out at the Miami Dolphins' three-day rookie minicamp. Six draft picks and 22 undrafted free agents recently signed by the Dolphins are also participating.

But Ray stands out because of what he has overcome. He was diagnosed with bone cancer eight years ago, only weeks after he accepted a scholarship to play at Michigan State. He underwent nine operations and was on crutches for more than two years.

Ray regained his health, transferred to Fort Lewis College in Colorado and caught the attention of NFL scouts. After last's week's draft the Dolphins invited him for a tryout. Ray says he has as good a chance as anyone to make the roster.
