MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Stargazers can look to the sky for the 2014 Leonid meteor shower Monday night and early Tuesday morning.

The best time to see the shower is just before dawn.

However, clouds over the area could hinder viewing.

Only a modest 10 to 15 Leonid meteors per hour are expected this year according to EarthSky.org.

To see the meteors look east after midnight.

The Leonids are a fast-moving meteor stream and can impact the Earth at 45 miles per second.
