LeBron James Named NBA's Eastern Conference Player Of The Month

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Just a couple days after LeBron James' history-making performance on the court, the NBA announced Wednesday that King James has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Month.

James' being awarded the title marks the 22nd time in franchise history a Miami Heat player has earned Player of the Month honors and the team-leading 12th time, and second time this season, James has earned the award.

King James' has averaged 30.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 2.67 steals while shooting 57.5 percent from the field in February. James' stats make him the second player in NBA history to average at least 30 points, eight rebounds and six assists while shooting at least 57 percent from the field during a single month.

James joins Wilt Chamberlain, who accomplished the feat in February of 1966.

Also, with seven of the Heat's 10 games on the road, James helped take his team to an NBA-best 9-1 February record, which is the longest streak in franchise history.

King James and the rest of the Miami Heat will take on the Spurs in San Antonio on Thursday.
