TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami/NSF) — Two Democratic lawmakers are taking aim at online sites that post jail booking photos and then charge fees to remove the mug shots.

The proposals, filed by Sen. Darren Soto of Orlando and Rep. Bobby DuBose of Fort Lauderdale, would bar online sites from requiring fees to remove the photos.

"Making a buck off of constant reminders of someone's mistake --- whether the fault of an individual or in some cases, law enforcement --- is wrong," DuBose said in a statement. "These online companies are reaping huge profits with no accountability and no conscience."

The bills are filed for the 2016 legislative session, which starts January 12th.
