Lauderdale Store Shooting Suspect Nabbed In Cleveland

FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - A man wanted for shooting at three teens at a Ft. Lauderdale convenience store has been arrested in Ohio.

U.S. Marshals got a tip that Omar Ayyash, 26, was at a home in the Cleveland area. They were able to take him into custody as he left the home.

Ayyash had been on the run since the September 25th shooting at Marshall's Food Mart on NW 27th Avenue. He was working at the store when he got into a fight with three teens when they refused to leave.

Once he got them out of the store, Ayyash walked back inside and retrieved a handgun from behind the counter. He calmly walked past other customers and out the front door. As the three teens walked away, he fired multiple shots at them.

All three received minor injuries.

Ayyash will be extradited to South Florida to face attempted murder charges.
