MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The latest Quinnipiac University Swing State Poll shows the race between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton keeps tightening with Election Day less than a week away.

In Florida, the Democratic presidential nominee holds a one-point lead over her GOP rival – 46 percent to 45 percent.

The last Q Poll in Florida, which was released on October 17, had Clinton leading Trump 48-44 as independent voters shifted to her.

The good news for Clinton is that she's ahead 48-42 percent among Florida voters who already have cast ballots.

However, according to Quinnipiac, likely voters in Florida don't like either candidate. Clinton was given a negative 44-54 percent favorability rating, while Trump received a negative 40-57 percent favorability.

For the third-party voters, Gary Johnson and Jill Stein are each pulling in two-percentage points in Florida.

The top ticket candidates are neck and neck in other key states, according to the poll.

In North Carolina, Clinton leads Trump by just three points – 47 to his 44. It's a one-point improvement for Trump, who was sitting at 43 percent on Oct. 27.

Trump leads Clinton, 46-41, in Ohio – the only lead for the GOP nominee in Wednesday's poll.

Both candidates got a bump in Pennsylvania since the Oct. 17 poll. Clinton made a one-point jump from 47 to 48. Trump picked up two points to move from 41 to 43.

With six days to go, Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll, believes these are the states to watch.

"After a two-year campaign which has produced the most unpopular presidential candidates in American history, the election comes down – as it historically does – to a handful of swing states," he said.

The poll had a margin of error of +/- 3.9 percentage points.
