MIAMI (CBSMiami) – It didn't take long for the first big name Miami Dolphins free agent to get scooped up by another team.

Running back Lamar Miller will sign with the Houston Texans for four years, $26 million with $14 million guaranteed.

Miller reportedly turned down a five-year offer with an annual average of $7 million because he wanted to sign a shorter deal, thought the team that offered that contract is unknown.

The Texans have also reportedly signed former Denver Broncos quarterback Brock Osweiler to a four-year $72 million contract.

Miller spent the first four years of his career in Miami and despite often having a strong yards per carry average, rarely received more then 13-to-15 carries per game.

He has said that he wants to average 20 carries per game and it appears that Houston will give him that opportunity.
