Killer Crocodile Snatches Dog Near Key Biscayne Pond

KEY BISCAYNE (CBSMiami) -- It was a tragic day for a pet owner out for a walk at a Key Biscayne golf course.

According to Florida Fish & Wildlife, the owner did not have a leash on her dog when it chased some ducks into a pond and was attacked by a crocodile at Crandon Golf at Key Biscayne.

The dog was dragged underwater and was not recovered.

Because the species is considered "threatened," it will be up to the county whether they want to call a private trapper to take the crocodile out.
