Ken Stabler's Widow, Others File New Concussion Lawsuit

MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) — A new lawsuit against the NFL over long-term injury from concussions has been filed Friday by former NFL quarterback Ken Stabler's widow and several former players.
The amended complaint filed in Miami federal court contends Stabler and others were left out of the NFL's $1 billion concussion settlement because of an April 2015 cutoff date.
Stabler died in July 2015 from colon cancer, but the lawsuit says he also suffered from chronic brain damage.
Joining Florida resident Rose Stabler in the lawsuit are former players Tracy Scroggins, Quinn Gray and Danny Gorrer.
The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages and class action status to represent other players in similar situations.
Stabler was elected to the Hall of Fame this year. He played for the Oakland Raiders, Houston Oilers and New Orleans Saints.
