Kelly: When Stephen Ross 'Knows It's Time to Pull The Plug He Will Pull The Plug'

Is Stephen Ross the type to fire a head coach midseason?

"He did it with [Tony] Sparano," the Sun Sentinel's Omar Kelly said on Hochman, Crowder and Krantz. "And used a loss... I thought it was a poorly timed firing because they had lost like Jake Long in that game against Philadelphia and, yeah, the team was heading in the right direction but he saw that loss and he was like 'let me pounce on it.'

"So he's done it before. When he knows it's time to pull the plug he will pull the plug and use a bad loss to do it. I just think this will be too early. I see the Game 8 game against the Buffalo Bills -- your rematch opportunity in Buffalo -- as the point when they'll probably pull the plug if they feel like they need to."

Does Omar think Philbin will make it through the season?

"No I don't. I would love to say he could and should. I don't... They need to be coached by somebody that is a leader of men."
