Judge Denies Request To Take Death Penalty Off The Table In Case Against Parkland Shooter Nikolas Cruz

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Confessed Parkland school shooter Nikolas Cruz appeared in court Tuesday for a hearing leading up to his sentencing next month.

In October, Cruz plead guilty to 17 counts of murder and 17 counts of attempted murder.

During Tuesday's hearing, the defense attorneys pushed to take the death penalty off the table.

The judge denied the request.
