MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Miami Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez spent Saturday afternoon with future big leaguers in Miami.

The Marlins All-Star led a camp of more than 100 kids from grades 1-8 to teach them the ins and outs of baseball.

The camp was held at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade's Hank Kline Club at 2805 S.W. 32nd Avenue.

The young sluggers went through the fundamentals and participated in games and contests.

"It's about the kids having fun," said Fernandez. "It's about seeing them and teaching them a little bit and I'm lucky to be here."

Along with the priceless baseball instruction, kids also got an autograph by Jose.
