MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Former Governor Jeb Bush is the clear lead in a new poll of potential Republican contenders for the White House in 2016.

Since announce that was "actively exploring" a presidential run, Bush's name has surged in the latest CNN/ORC survey.

Of Republicans polled nationwide wide, 23 percent said they would support Bush. That's a full 10 points ahead of his closest competitor New Jersey Governor Chris Christie (13 percent).

The 10 point difference marks the first time any prospective candidate had a lead beyond the poll's margin of error in the past two years.
