Jarvis Landry Named AFC Special Teams Player Of The Month

DAVIE (CBSMiami) – The NFL announced on Thursday that Miami Dolphins rookie receiver Jarvis Landry has been named AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for October.

Landry was selected in the second round (63rd overall) in the 2014 NFL Draft.

During the month of October Landry returned five kickoffs for a total of 178 yards, with a long of 54 yards. His average of 35.6 yards per return is the second-highest in the NFL in October and is the highest October kickoff return average in Dolphins franchise history.

So far during his rookie season, Landry has returned 16 kicks for a total of 500 yards, with a long of 74 yards, the sixth-longest in the NFL this season.  His average of 31.3 yards per kick return currently leads the league.
