MIAMI (AP) — The Miami Marlins plan to activate right-hander Jarred Cosart off the disabled list Thursday and send him to the bullpen.

Cosart has appeared in 47 major league games, all as a starter. He hasn't pitched since May 13 because of vertigo and is 1-3 with a 4.08 ERA this season.

Dan Haren will start for Miami against St. Louis on Thursday, followed by Justin Nicolino and Tom Koehler on Friday and Saturday against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Cosart says he feels great after his bout with vertigo and that "I feel like I've earned my spot as a starting pitcher."

The Marlins rotation will likely get even more jammed next week when ace Jose Fernandez is expected to return more than a year after elbow surgery.
