January Scholar Athlete: Ashley Hatch

January Scholar Athlete of the Month, Coral Springs' Ashley Hatch. Ashley is a senior member of the Colts girls' soccer team. Ashley is ranked in the top 10 in her senior class with a 5.2 grade point average. She was just accepted to and plans to attend the University of Georgia in Athens, GA. Major to be Veterinarian. Has been a member of the soccer team for four seasons. This year is the team captain. Also play club soccer for Team Boca. Serves in Student Government as Senior Class President. Member of numerous Honor Societies and clubs. As a soccer player, she was a unanimous choice as team captain. She is our leader, no question. The team is comprised of mostly 9th and 10th graders and they look up to her. The squad has also been decimated by injuries this season (over half have missed significant time) and she has refused to let them use that as an excuse. They have fought through all the adversity to be the best that they can be. That is a tribute to Ashley and her leadership.
