Woman Gunned Down While Leaving Friend's Home

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Miami Police are investigating the death of woman who was gunned down while leaving her friend's home overnight.

Officer said the 19-year old Alexus Victoria Douglas was shot near NW 31st Avenue and 23rd Street in Allapattah around at 1:30 a.m.

Douglas was in the process of stepping out of her friend's apartment at the time of the shooting, police said.

Rescue crews rushed her to Jackson Memorial Hospital where she later died.

Police said it is unclear if the offender was on foot or in a vehicle.

Authorities say they do not have a suspect or a motive for the shooting at this time.
