MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting deaths of two men in an employee parking lot at Miami International Airport.

According to Miami-Dade Police, Airport District officers were dispatched to MIA's employee parking lot three, located near N.W. 14th Street and N.W. 45th Avenue, after calls of shots fired.

Responding officers found Mario Fernandez, 59, and Ivan de la Paz, 56, deceased.

Fernandez was shot multiple times. De la Paz died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the face, officials said.

A witness told police the men were heard arguing before the shots were fired. It's believed that they worked at the airport but weren't county employees, according to an M.I.A. spokesman.

Both victims were pronounced deceased on scene.
