Investigation Underway After Plane Hits Lights At MIA

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – An investigation is under way after plane rammed into lights during take off at Miami International Airport.

A Qatar Airways Boeing 777 hit several 20-foot tall light structures at the end of the runway on September 15th.

It happened after the pilot reportedly requested to take off from an intersection rather than using the full runway.

The plane sustained minor damage and safely arrived at Doha, Qatar after the incident happened.

According to a Miami Dade Police incident report, airline officials said when they arrived, they found scratches on the belly of the plane, prompting an investigation into the matter.
