Inaugural Stars To Be Inducted Into Miami Walk Of Fame
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - While it's got a long way to go to catch up to Hollywood, Miami will begin its own "Walk of Fame" Friday with the induction of stars Jamie Foxx and Andy Garcia.
The celebration at Bayfront Marketplace, which is also where the Walk of Fame will be located, will also see a premier induction of the animated film "RIO 2."
The Miami Walk of Fame ceremony will feature the Miami Children's Chorus singing the theme song for the movie, "What is Love,' and will be accompanied by Latin drummers and dancers. A presentation from Jungle Island and a proclamation from the Brazilian Consulate will also be featured at the event.
The group behind the new Walk of Fame hopes it will help keep downtown Miami a top tourist attraction and keep Bayside a key growth engine in the Miami economy.
