SCOUTING: Here is a talent that we actually introduced over a year ago - before he took his first snap at the varsity level for the Mustangs. Jones is a very promising football player who first turned heads in the offseason at 7-on-7 events, and then last year as a freshman, he got his chance to take over the reigns at the varsity level. He has tremendous field awareness and is a gifted athlete who makes plays and moves the chains. If he continues to impress the way he has, this is certainly a talented young man who has the chance to get into the statewide elite group. Because he can throw the ball and use his legs as well, college coaches will have the chance to use him in a number of ways - much like head coach Laron Culpepper had hoped would happen when he first got to the school. Jones is way under-the-radar right now, but that will certainly change with the success of this team in 2016 and beyond.
