I-95 Southbound Lanes Closure Postponed Due To Weather

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- The south bound lanes of I-95 that were supposed to be closed-off Thursday night have been canceled due to rain.

The closure was scheduled for Thursday night just North of the I-195/SR-112 eastbound ramps.

One lane was supposed to close at 10:00 p.m followed by the rest at 1:00 a.m. All southbound lanes were set to remain closed until 5:00 a.m. This will happen again on February 3rd.

Drivers will be detoured through I-195 eastbound (Miami Beach). The SR 112 westbound (Airport) ramp will remain open.

The closure was in place so that contractors could install the new overhead sign structures and remove the old overhead truss between SR-112 and SR-836.

Drivers are encouraged to call 511 before they drive or log on to www.fl511.com to get real- time traffic and lane closure information.
