Hyde: Loria Was 'Talked Out of' Firing Mike Redmond a Month Ago

With the Marlins announcing Dan Jennings as the franchise's next manager on Monday, Jeffrey Loria apparently strongly considered firing Mike Redmond well before pulling the trigger on Sunday.

"Loria wanted to fire Redmond -- I know this -- before the baseball people did," the Sun Sentinel's Dave Hyde said on 560 WQAM's Joe Rose Show. "He was ready and he was talked out of it about a month ago. And then the baseball people said give him a little more and then they were ready too. But I'm sure Jennings was part of that group 'ok we gotta make a change.'"
