Hollywood Massage Parlor Prostitution Sting Nets 24 Arrests

HOLLYWOOD (CBSMiami/AP) — Two dozen women were arrested this week in Hollywood police prostitution sting which targeted massage parlors.

The women were taken into custodyafter detectives found evidence they were performing sexual acts on customers at 20 different locations in the city during the five-month investigation called Operation Red Light.

Investigators say they also found beds, clothing and food that showed some of the women were living in the parlors. Police say some of the women admitted they were living there.

Police spokeswoman Miranda Grossman said the women face charges of solicitation of prostitution, operating without a license and misrepresenting themselves as licensed massage therapists.

Two of the women, who are owners of massage parlors, also face bribery charges after they allegedly told an undercover detective that they would pay him to provide protection from law enforcement.
