Hollywood Man Faces Up To A Life Term For Prostitution Conviction

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami/AP) — A Hollywood man who forced a woman to work as a prostitute for him is facing up to life in prison when he's sentenced later this year.

Shaun Eric McKinley, 35, was convicted of kidnapping and sex trafficking charges by a federal jury in Fort Lauderdale. Sentencing is set for November 25th. McKinley faces a minimum of 15 years in prison and a maximum of life.

According to trial testimony, McKinley forced the 28-year-old victim into prostitution in December 2013. She was required to have up to seven dates a day, seven days a week, with all of her earnings going to McKinley. She was assaulted and once tied up with electric cords.

Evidence showed the woman escaped in May when McKinley's friend let her out of a locked car.
