Hit & Run Victim Left In Critical Condition

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Miami-Dade Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left one person injured.

The 38-year-old victim, inside a black Honda Accord, was heading south on N.W. 22nd Avenue when the car was rear-ended by another vehicle "traveling at a high rate of speed," according to investigators. It happened just north of state road 112.

The driver then fled the scene without offering help or calling police.

The victim was taken to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical but stable condition.

Police believe the suspect was in a black 2011-2013 Kia Optima.
