Heyman: Marlins Trading Latos and Haren is 'Likely'

The Miami Marlins are 15 games under .500, 11 games back in the wildcard race, and received devastating news this past weekend of Giancarlo Stanton breaking a bone in his hand.

With that and the trade deadline approaching, will the Marlins be sellers in July?

"At this point it's not realistic for them to be in the race," MLB Insider Jon Heyman said on the Joe Rose Show. "We will see in another week or two perhaps, but I would say likely we would see trades of [Mat] Latos and [Dan] Haren and then if they want to do it a little bit further they can get into Prado, some relievers, maybe Dunn. That's up to them.

"I think they were determined to not have a sale but the handwriting is on the wall."

Latos and Haren are free agents after the season, so getting some value in return for them while they can would be a shrewd move.
