Gruesome Murder Scene Inside Pembroke Pines Home
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A disturbing discovery inside a Pembroke Pines home.
Investigators say multiple people were found dead inside a home in the 1600 block of SW 156th Avenue.
Pembroke Pines Police Captain Adam Feiner said the suspect—-35-year-old Pablo Colon—-took the life of his 36-year-old wife Sandra Colon and 61-year-old mother-in-law Olga Alvarez and 3-year-old daughter—-a twin girl—-before taking his own life with a gun. He said the family had rented the home for the past 6 months.

BSO says the home had no criminal history and police said Colon had no known criminal history.
Feiner told CBS4's Peter D'Oench, "Our investigation concluded that Pablo Colon killed his wife, his mother-in-law and 3-year-old daughter before taking his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The surviving 3-year-old daughter was taken to a hospital as a precaution." He said she was not injured and is now with a family member.
Police are baffled as to why this happened. Feiner said there was no note left behind and they have no motive.
Around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, police received a 911 call from a man inside the home who said he had murdered his family and was threatening to take his life.
Feiner said there was an initial call to 911 from the mother-in-law who was screaming in Spanish.
A rapid action response team was deployed and they found three bodies inside the home who appeared to have died from gunshot wounds. They also found a child in the home who was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Neighbors say their gated community at the Grand Palms Golf and Country Club just south of Pines Boulevard and just west of I-75 is a quiet place and are disbelief that something like this could happen there. It happened in the Grove Estates subdivision.
"Somebody perpetrated a crime against their own family. I am shocked," said Jorge Cantero.
"I've never heard of anything like that here and I've been here for probably close to 15 years," said Paul Chermac.
Neighbor Ray Harnell told CBS4's Peter D'Oench, "This is unbelievable. I have been here seven years and I have not heard of one incident of violence or crime. We have a lot of troubled people in our country today and it is pretty obvious that we really need to do something about mental health issues. We really need to work on that. I also pray we do something about guns. I wish I knew how to stop this. We seem to be obsessed with guns in this country. Congress can't do anything about this. The President can't do anything. People want it stopped but nobody is responding to it."
"It is amazing what happened. I don't understand it how people can do that to their entire family. It is beyond comprehension as far as I am concerned. I'm sad for what is left behind and the child left behind. This is a beautiful neighborhood but this is happening nowadays one incident right after the other," said Lou Rossi who also lives in the community.
"The SWAT team was running down the street and then they got all armored up. This is very said in a neighborhood as quiet as ours," said Greg Watson.
