Gov. Scott Declares March 21, Save The Florida Panther Day

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Florida Governor Rick Scott declared March 21st as "Save the Florida Panther Day."

The move comes after there has already been 11 panther deaths in Florida for 2015.

Gov. Scott had said this year he is recommending an investment of $150 million toward land acquisition and management which will focus on protecting land for the Florida panther.

The funding for Florida's ecosystem is meant to ensure that the species such as the Florida panther are protected as well as the  Everglades remains preserved for generations to come.
